LIGHT ART TURNS TO NEON NOSTALGIA
"Old -fashioned neon light still has its place among the newer lighting technologies . Working with Fort Lauderdale-based designer Dana Duquesne of Yacht Decor Inc. , neon artist Nader Nemati from NNneon has addressed a challenging project by turning to one of his favorite media . The owner of a 161' Trinity wanted an old-world feel in a day head that has a solid onyx as its centerpiece . To achieve the desired effect , the artist installed white neon tubes , encased in plexiglass, behind the sink , illuminating the piece with a pale orange glow . Nemati also has used neon on other yacht interior projects , concealing it under furniture to create floating effect , mounting it under valances to provide the illusion of moonlight , and in galleys for indirect lighting ."
